Arkham, a crypto intelligence platform, has unveiled a dashboard showcasing governments with significant cryptocurrency holdings, including the United States, United Kingdom, and Germany.
The new tool allows users to monitor the balance and transaction history of cryptocurrencies held by governments in real-time.
The U.S. government leads in Bitcoin holdings among global states, with 212,847 BTC valued at approximately $15 billion. It also holds around $200 million in other cryptocurrencies such as Ether (ETH) and major stablecoins like USDC and Tether.
The United Kingdom and Germany rank second and third, respectively, with significant Bitcoin holdings worth billions of dollars.
El Salvador, the first country to adopt Bitcoin as legal tender, holds a smaller amount of BTC compared to other nations, with holdings totaling $405 million.
Arkham’s dashboard provides transparency regarding cryptocurrency assets held by governments, offering insight into whale holdings.
The dashboard reveals that the U.S. government has been accumulating Bitcoin over the past few years, adding at least 5,000 BTC since early 2023.
A substantial portion of the U.S. government’s Bitcoin holdings stem from confiscations linked to entities such as Silk Road, hacker Jimmy Zhong, and Bitfinex hackers.
